Purchasing exchange traded funds is now available in VTB Online
VTB is expanding its investment opportunities available through mobile and Internet banking. Customers can now buy exchange-traded funds (ETF) via VTB Online.
VTB customers will be able to purchase ETFs in rubles, dollars or euros on VTB Online. To do this, the user just needs to log in to the “Investments” section, select a fund and make the purchase.
Exchange-traded funds are ready-made portfolios of stocks, giving users of the platform the ability to invest money in a variety of stocks at once, allowing them to minimize the risk of investment. In addition, users can start investing with a single share, which provides a low cost for initial investments.
“VTB provides the widest range of exchange-traded funds in the country. This product was introduced to the Russian market just a year ago and during this time it has become quite popular. Even with very small investment amounts, it allows you to invest in a widely diversified portfolio of securities, while the commission is minimal. It will now be even easier to buy directly from VTB Online. Making investments a clear and accessible way to increase funds is our strategic priority.” said Vladimir Potapov, Chief Executive officer of VTB Capital Investments, Senior Vice President and Head of VTB’s Brokerage Services Department.
“It is important for us that VTB Online clients have the opportunity to choose a reliable and convenient way to generate investment income. After launching the online purchase of stocks, we have seen a lot of interest in this type of investment and are expanding opportunities for novice investors. The range of available solutions has been expanded with exchange traded funds, which will become an interesting alternative to the usual deposits and savings accounts for many clients.” said Nikita Chugunov, Head of the Digital Business Department — Senior Vice President of VTB.
In April, the bank implemented online purchases of VTB and OFZ bonds in VTB Online. The intuitive interface makes it easy to determine the appropriate tool. Customers who are interested in a wider range of stocks can also install the free VTB My Investments app with access to more than 5,000 tools.
