The launch ceremony for Nearmedic Pharma, a pharmaceuticals plant VTB supported with a three-year RUB 3 billion loan, was held in Obninsk on 5 June 2015. The plant is a unique full-cycle facility, with operations ranging from synthesising precursors to manufacturing medicines - including proprietary medicines.
“We have been working with Nearmedic for five years. We are glad to be able to help our partner create a facility producing proprietary medicines in the Kaluga Region’s pharmaceutical cluster. VTB Bank is always keen to support projects to improve people’s lives, and that is precisely what producing modern high-quality medicines at this facility will accomplish. In addition, the Obinsk production facility will also help create new jobs in the region,” said Mikhail Oseevskiy, Deputy President and Chairman of VTB Bank Management Board.
Nearmedic Director General Vladimir Nesterenko said that VTB Bank has been a reliable partner for many years. “We implemented this project, to build a full-cycle pharmaceutical plant, thanks to the bank’s support. The plant will not only produce existing medicines but will also design new ones at its Research & Development Centre and see them enter mass production,” Nesterenko said.
