VTB licence

  • General Licence of the Bank of Russia No. 1000;
  • Licences from the Federal Service for Financial Markets of 25 March 2003 for: depository (custody) activity No. 178-06497-000100, brokerage activity No. 177-06492-100000, dealer operations No. 177-06493-010000, asset management No. 177–06496 — 001000;
  • Federal Service for Financial Markets licence No. 22-000-0-00011 of 4 October 2000 of a specialised depositary of investment funds, mutual investment funds and non-state pension funds.

  • volume of assets under VTB Bank’s custody is over USD 80 billion;
  • VTB Custody serves over 1,500 clients, including Russian and foreign banks, global custodians, brokers, management companies and funds;
  • The bank maintains over 400 correspondent accounts, which provides diverse opportunities for inter-depositary settlements;
  • VTB Bank is a Russian custodian for The Bank of New York Mellon for 18 programs of global and US depositary receipts.

Compliance with international standards

  • In the 2010 Agent Banks in Emerging Markets survey by Global Custodian magazine, VTB Bank was awarded the highest rating ("Top Rated") for the fourth consecutive year;
  • "Eligible Custodian" under Rule 17f-5 and Rule 17f-7 of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC);
  • Ernst & Young have confirmed that the procedures used by VTB Bank’s Custody meet the standards of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants SAS 70;
  • VTB is the first Russian banking custodian to receive an international public custody rating. Thomas Murray Ratings Limited assigned VTB a Domestic Custody Rating of A- with a stable outlook, which certifies the high quality of its depositary services according to international standards.
