Global Finance recognizes VTB as the best Russian bank

VTB Bank is ranked number one for Russia in the category "Best Emerging Market Banks in Central and Eastern Europe" in surveys made by Global Finance, a reputable international financial magazine.

Experts' estimates were based on the selection criteria including growth in assets, profitability, strategic relationships, customer service, competitive pricing and innovation in services.

A special survey of the banks in 22 emerging economies will be published in May. The awarding ceremony will be held this autumn in Washington at the regular annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.

Global Finance has been highly awarding VTB for several years:  

• In 2008, VTB was rewarded for the most efficient forex trading among Russian banks.
• In 2007, the magazine recognized VTB as the best bank in the categories "Best Domestic Bank" and "Best Commercial Bank".
• In 2006, Global Finance named VTB the best commercial bank in Russia. Besides, the Bank won the nomination "Best Underwriter in the Russian Market".
• In 2005, VTB was recognized as the best commercial bank in Russia and won the nomination "Best Trade Finance Bank in Russia".
