In the Financial News annual list of the 100 most influential people in the European capital markets, Yuri Soloviev, Head of VTB Group Investment Business, is among the top 10 people in investment banking.
Over the last three months, Financial News canvassed the market for opinion and drew up lists within 10 categories - all nominees had to be based in Europe, and central bankers and those in government were excluded.
Candidates were then marked for influence over their area, leadership within their sector, performance over the past year, and their capacity to shape their business and/or industry over the year to come. The list was then whittled down to 100.
Commenting the event, Andrei Kostin, VTB President and Chairman of the Management Board, said: "We were glad to learn that Yuri Soloviev, head of our investment business, was recognized as one of the ten top investment bankers of Europe. Yuri Soloviev is the only Russian banker whose role, contribution and potential in the European financial markets were marked by FN as outstanding. We are proud of the fact that a team of world-class professionals such as Yuri are working for us, and we are absolutely sure that the success of VTB investment banking is placed in reliable hands".
