The VTB Bank Scholars program and traineeship

VTB Bank is one of the 20 most attractive employers in Russia for young specialists. In 2007-2008, VTB was ranked seventh by TARGET. VTB Bank cares about recruiting young specialists in economics, finance, IT and marketing. We need employees with excellent computer skills, outstanding professional capabilities and the ability to take the initiative.

We devote a great deal of attention to working with university students and graduates through:

• developing cooperation with economics universities in Moscow;
• offering on-the-job experience and pre-graduation work opportunities;
• organizing traineeships for university students and graduates.

Over 100 people receive on-the-job training at VTB Bank each year.

Acceptance for on-the-job experience and traineeships is competitive, based on an interview.

University students and graduates may do traineeships in the following areas of business:

• customer relations;
• product line;
• primary processing of customer documents in the bank’s credit divisions;
• financial and bank reporting.

The bank also supports and sponsors the most talented students from Moscow economics universities, granting personal scholarships to the best of them.

The VTB Bank Scholarship program was launched in 2002. Its main objective is to attract talented students to careers in banking. Participation in the program is on a competitive basis.

In 2008, 20 students from four Moscow universities received VTB scholarships. The schools were the Russian Government Financial Academy, the State University – Higher School of Economics, Lomonosov Moscow State University (MGU), and the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

VTB Bank holds an annual Open House, at which students may:

• receive information on VTB Bank and the VTB Group;
• learn about the terms of on-the-job training;
• meet VTB executives and other employees.

The Open House is very popular with students. On April 16, 2008, for example, over 130 people visited VTB Bank. Ninety-five students were selected for traineeships.

The advantages of receiving on-the-job experience or doing a traineeship at VTB derive not only from the bank’s stability and brand-recognition, but also from the wide range of opportunities it offers. Students working at VTB have the chance to:
