One of our greatest achievements is the VTB Team, a community of bright, proactive and highly skilled professionals, an asset that will never lose value.
The Training and Development System (T&D system) at VTB, like other HR management functions, is a tool for meeting the challenges which face our business. The bank’s staff receives professional training in various areas, and develops operational efficiency and management skills. In 2008, the VTB T&D was recognized, in research done by TRAININGS INDEX, as a winner in the Best T&D System category.
In the current economic environment, the CES enables our business to be flexible and to respond promptly to external challenges.
Today, the VTB T&D system is focusing above all on internal resources which have been systematically built up over the last three years.
The key resources of the VTB CES are people with cutting-edge corporate expertise and experience: the best professionals in various areas of banking as well as top and middle managers. Among them are the bank’s most experienced customer relations managers, who are qualified as corporate trainers; graduates and students of the VTB Corporate University; and other highly skilled specialists from the divisions of the VTB Bank.
Because of VTB’s geographical spread across the Russian Federation, e- learning and our Regional Training Centers play a special role within the VTB T&D system.
As an integral part of the T&D, the Corporate E-learning Web-portal serves as a kind of classroom for the bank’s entire staff. More than four thousand VTB employees each year take e-courses or professional testing. Video seminars and workshops are used for prompt and efficient transmission of information in all areas of product training, as well as banking processes and procedures.
Employees at branch offices of the bank have other opportunities to receive training, besides through distance learning. They can take advantage of the Regional Training Centers (RTC), established at nine VTB branches, which organize training programs for the branches in the regions where they are located. The RTCs offer corporate programs featuring specialists from Moscow, and conduct specialized workshops with the best professionals at the branches. At the same time, the RTCs are not strictly training units, but are fully integrated into the administrative operations of the branches. RTC staff members are in charge of organizing the training process, in addition to their main duties.
The scope of our corporate training program measures up to the scope of the VTB Group’s operations.
VTB Bank is proud of its Corporate University, which opened in 2005. To date, around 500 employees of VTB group companies in the CIS have graduated from or taken courses at the university. The Corporate University offers two educational programs for middle managers: Energy of Leadership and Effective Management.
The Effective Customer Relations corporate program is designed to train the front office personnel What makes the program unique is that the bank’s very best professionals are the corporate trainers, serving as instructors and trainers for the Effective Sales and Efficient Service courses.
The VTB Bank and VTB Group Products program is designed for customer relations managers from the head office and regional branches.
An Orientation Program is conducted according to unified standards throughout all areas in Russia and abroad where VTB has a presence.
VTB’s scholarship program and on-the-job traineeship offered by the bank are popular with students at Moscow and regional universities.
For VTB employees, the T&D is more than an opportunity to gain knowledge. The VTB T&D system gives them the ability to build and make use of their corporate expertise. The VTB T&D system provides ways to identify and develop business solutions. Promoting the best banking and management practices, it generates VTB’s most valuable asset – its unique human capital.
