The Supervisory Council of the Bank acts under applicable Russian law, the Bank`s Charter, Regulation on the Supervisory Council and other VTB Bank by-laws. The Supervisory Council decides on general matters of the Bank`s activities, including its development strategy, except for those falling within the terms of reference of the General Shareholders Meeting under applicable Russian law and the Charter.

Member of the Supervisory Council First Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia. Since 2004 – First Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia.

Previously held positions:
2000-2004 – First Deputy of the Russian Minister of Finance.
1999-2000 – Deputy Director of The "Institute of Economy in Transition" Fund.
1998-1999 – Deputy Head of the Institute of the Problems of Economy in Transition.
1996-1998 – Member of the Moscow City Duma.

Class 1 Full State Counselor of the Russian Federation.
