On 21 July 2011, a VTB business group headed by Chaba Zentai, VTB Senior Vice President and Head of the 3rd Corporate Department, who is in charge of medium-sized business and regional development of the Bank, arrived in Barnaul.

During the visit, the group negotiated with key VTB customers in the Altai Territory, medium-sized and large businesses, and held a workshop conference with 18 Branch Managers of the Bank. The meeting agenda included discussion of new principles for developing regional business and branch network under the new lending procedure.

“The main goal for us is to strengthen our relations with all business segments. To do that, it is essential to build a strong transaction bank and increase the share in priority settlement and fee products. The Bank pays a lot of attention to its regional network. Every customer should be able to receive the whole range of services offered by the Group in any VTB branch”, Chaba Zentai said.

The volume of VTB loans to municipal entities of the Altai Territory (Biysk and Rubtsovsk) and the Altai Republic (Gorno-Altaysk) in 2011 amounted to RUB 440 million. In 2010, this figure was at RUB 250 million.

VTB Bank’s participation in lending to these cities allowed municipalities to cut their budget expenditures on debt servicing from 12-15% to 7.5% per annum. The money saved permitted the authorities to channel these funds to social purposes.

Concluding the visit, Chaba Zentai mentioned that he was “satisfied by the negotiations held with the most dynamic enterprises of the Altai Republic. We have shaped a large number of mutually beneficial projects, which will allow the Bank to strengthen its position in the region, while giving our customers access to the broad product range of VTB Bank.”
