On 1-3 July, Rodina and Arena Khimki stadiums hosted the International Football Tournament FC Dynamo VTB Lev Yashin Cup. As in 2008, VTB acted as a General Sponsor of the games. Among the participants were Dynamo football clubs from Moscow, Kiev and Minsk. The Muscovites became the winners.
This year program stipulated a number of events for football fans and amateurs. Mega-Khimki Shopping Mall organized a thematic photo gallery of the Dynamo Club, with interesting photos from the Dynamo Club photo archives being displaced.
On 3 July, ahead of the major match of the tournament, a big football show was held in front of the Arena Khimki stadium. Special thematic platforms were arranged symbolizing people’s friendship and solidarity, and telling about the history and traditions of the Dynamo society.
The first Lev Yashin Cup was held in 2008 and coincided with the 85th anniversary of the Dynamo society. At that time, Dynamo-Moscow football club organized friendly matches with Dynamo football players from Kiev, Minsk and Tbilisi under the motto “Dynamo – Games of Champions”.
