Jyrki Talvitie has been appointed the head of Investor Relations Division of VTB. Holding a position of Senior Vice President, Mr.Talvitie will be in charge of building effective relations with investors, enhancing VTB image in Western investors’ community and share price growth.
Jyrki Talvitie has a 20-year working experience in the biggest Western banks (Bank of New York, Nordea Bank and BNP Paribas). Throughout his career Jyrki was focusing on projects in Russian financial sector. He entered the Board of Directors of 7 Russian banks and worked in Russian Financial Corporation Uralsib as Chief Managing Director for international operations. For the last 5 years, Mr.Talvitie has been the Head of the Russian office of East Capital, a leading independent asset manager specialising in Eastern European financial markets.
“Jyrki, with his tremendous expertise in major Western financial institutions, has always been involved with the Russian financial market. His appointment as Senior Vice President is in line with VTB’s strategic plan to increase the Group’s capitalization”, said Herbert Moos, VTB Group Deputy President and Chairman of the Management Board.
Jyrki Talvitie, Senior Vice President of VTB, stated: “I am glad to join VTB team. I really admire the impressive success VTB has achieved in all its businesses: corporate, retail and investment. Jyrki Talvitie was born on 02 April 1966 in Helsinki. He graduated from the University of Helsinki in 1991 majoring in legal science. He was awarded a Master’s degree in Law and an Executive MBA degree (London Business School). Mr. Talvitie has held management positions in major Western banks: Bank of New York, Nordea Bank and BNP Paribas. He was responsible for international operations in Uralsib Financial Corporation as Chief Managing Director. From 2005 till 2010, he was in charge of the Russian office of East Capital Investment Company. Mr. Talvitie has working experience in the CIS markets (Ukraine, Kazakhstan) and Georgia.
