The 4th Diaghilev P.S. international festival of arts takes place in St. Petersburg from 23 to 29 November, supported by VTB Bank. The festival features international ballet premieres from the last few seasons.
On 23 and 24 November, Angelin Preljocaj’s new ballet The Nights will be performed at the Alexandrinsky Theatre. The Mikhailovsky Theatre will host the one-act ballet Gods and Dogs by Jiri Kylian performed by the Bavarian State Ballet, as well as two one-act ballets by Nacho Duato, In the Woods and Invisible, on the night of 25 November. On 27 and 28 November, the Norwegian National Ballet will perform three one-act ballets, Wings of Wax, Suite and Soldiers Mass, at the Mikhailovsky Theatre.
The festival will also include a series of vocal and instrumental concerts as part of the Russia-Netherlands bilateral year and organised in collaboration with three Dutch music festivals – the Peter the Great Festival, the Amsterdam Canal Festival and the International Franz Liszt Piano Competition.
In addition, an international research conference titled Theatre and Fashion. Dialogue of Arts will be held on 23 and 24 November in the Museum of Theatre and Music, while an exhibition called Russian Los Angeles. Stravinsky, Innovation and Dance will open on 23 November.
The Diaghilev P.S. international festival of arts was founded in 2009 in St. Petersburg. The aim of the festival is to facilitate cultural exchange between Russia and the rest of the world and promote landmark and innovative pieces of art in various genres. The festival features guest performances from the best international modern ballet companies.
