On October 17, the World Economic Forum opened its session in Russia. Among the participants in this regional session are many political leader and recognized financiers from numerous countries of the world. The session is aimed at promoting foreign trade and Russia`s further integration in the global economy.
Top on the agenda are the issues of Russia`s development strategy for the long-term perspective, current trends in political, economic and social spheres.
Being a leader of the Russian banking sector, Vneshtorgbank acts as a partner and an active participant in the Forum`s session. Addressing the Forum, Andrey Kostin, Chairman and CEO of the Bank will present his views on the current state and major development guidelines of the Russian financial market and banking business.
It has already become a tradition that Vneshtorgbank acts as an arranger of the main cultural event of the Forum - performance of the Bolshoi Theatre in the State Museum of Fine Arts named after Alexander Pushkin, which will conclude the first day of the session.
The brightest pieces from the world-known compositions will be presented by the soloists of the Bolshoi, such as: Alexander Naumenko Александр Науменко (bass), Oksana Lomova (soprano), Svetlana Belokon (mezzosoprano), Vladimir Redkin (baritone). They will perform arias from Petr Tchaikovsky ("Eugene Onegin" and "The Queen of Spades"), George Bizet (aria of Escamillo from "Carmen") and Jacques Offenbach ("Les Contes d`Hoffman").
Also, participating in the performance will be Bolshoi ballet soloists Galina Stepanenko and Alexander Somov, other ballet and mimic dancers of the Bolshoi. They will perform "The Russian dance` by Petr Tchaikovsky, a krakowiak from the opera "Ivan Sousanin" by Mikhail Glinka and a tango from "The Last Tango in Paris" by Astor Piazzolla.
This performance became possible due to the lasting partnership between Vneshtorgbank and the Bolshoi Theatre. As a member of the Tutorial Board of the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre, the Bank supports all its perspective and innovative initiatives aimed at further development of artists` mastery.
This January, Vneshtorgbank arranged and held a major cultural event of Davos 2005 - The Russian Night with the participation of the Bolshoi prominent opera and ballet artists, Igor Butman`s quartet, Veretenyetze ensemble, Tchaif Group, Valery Meladze, "Markscheider Kunst ", trio Fedorov-Volkov-Starostin, Nino Katamadze and INSIGHT Group.
