On 21 October 2004, a meeting of Vneshtorgbank`s Supervisory Board took place. At the meeting, a decision was taken to convene of a special assembly of Vneshtorgbank`s shareholders, planned for the 15 December 2004, and determine the order of business for the assembly.
The Supervisory Board also made decisions on a series of questions concerning Vneshtorgbank`s current activities; in particular, about the opening of regional VTB affiliated branches in Bryansk, Nalchik, Tver, Ulan Uday and Barnaul.
The Supervisory Board also made a decision about naming Alexei Akinshin the deputy president-chairman of the Board of Vneshtorgbank, and choosing the Senior Vice-President, Vasily Titov as a member of the Board.
After the meeting of the Supervisory Board, the Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation, Alexei Kudrin, awarded a medal for "services towards the Fatherland" first-class to the Senior Vice-President of Vneshtorgbank, Yury Lebedev; and awarded a medal for "services towards the Fatherland" second-class to the Senior Vice-President and member of the Board, Erkin Norov. A decree about the awards was signed by the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, on 20 August 2004. The conferring of State distinctions of the highest order on the leaders of Vneshtorgbank reflects their working success and many years of conscientious work helping to develop the economy of the Russian Federation.
