Today, 18 April 2003, a presentation of a new customer service floor was held at a Vneshtorgbank added office located at 5, build.1, Marksistskaya St., Moscow.
At present, extended network of Vneshtorgbank offices in the Moscow City and in provinces, located as close as possible to customers, provides universal banking services to private individuals, big, medium and small businesses, and it is an important component of the efforts towards improved quality of the customer service.
As of 31 March 2003, the Bank`s regional network totalled 42 branches, 42 added offices in regions, 19 added offices and 2 operation units in the Moscow City. The first quarter of the year 2003 saw 5 new added offices and 2 off-cashier`s operation units opened in the Moscow City.
According to Guennadi Soldatenkov, Executive Vice-President and Deputy Chairman, who took part in the presentation ceremony, "implementation of the Vneshtorgbank strategy towards fostering comprehensive services for individual clients is an important component of the Banks` successful performance as a whole. Growth in all retail business indicators proves that efforts Vneshtorgbank makes along these lines are adequately accepted by the population".
The interim record for the first quarter of the year 2003 showed that Vneshtorgbank raised household funds for a totalount of 19.2 billion roubles. Total money raised from individual customers posted more than 1.2 time increase as compared to year-start 2003, while absolute growthounted to 3.3 billion roubles.
Along with increased number of depositors and grown time deposit balances, plastic card business had substantial impact on expanded deposit sources in retail services. As of 31 March 2003, Vneshtorgbank issued 185,000 international payment cards, and rate of growth of issued cards in absolute and relative terms were 23,000 and 14 percent, accordingly. Consolidated card account balances were over 1.5 billion roubles according to the interim report for the first quarter of the year.
In the first quarter of the year, merchant network accepting Vneshtorgbank`s international cards increased by 26 percent from 673 to 847 points of service. At present, it comprises 152 cash advance points, 206 ATMs and about 490 merchants which accept Vneshtorgbank-issued cards.
