VTB Bank has appointed Mikhail Yakunin Vice President in charge of the Group’s Financial Subsidiaries Division. Mikhail Yakunin joined VTB Group in 2008, and since 2011 has been CEO of VTB Factoring. In his new position, he will be responsible for overseeing VTB Bank’s foreign banks and financial subsidiaries.
Vasily Titov, VTB Bank First Deputy President and Chairman of the Management Board, said: “VTB Group brings together dozens of companies, and is represented in more than 20 countries. Developing our subsidiaries and foreign branch network is one of the Group’s priority tasks. Mikhail Yakunin has an extensive work experience in financial sector, and he has become a part of the VTB team. I am confident that he will be successful in his new role”.
Mikhail Yakunin has been Head of VTB Factoring since February 2008. Previously, he headed the Financial Subsidiaries Development Division at VTB Bank, and oversaw the Group’s factoring, leasing, and insurance business, and the operations of VTB Pension Fund.
Before joining VTB Mikhail Yakunin was a consultant at МсKinsey & Company, where he specialized in the financial, telecommunications and IT sectors, working on projects including business strategy development, corporate governance, new product launches, risk management. Earlier Mikhail Yakunin worked for British Telecom Plc in London and DBC and Atlant in St. Petersburg.Mikhail Yakunin was born in 1974 in Leningrad. In 1997 he graduated from St. Petersburg State Academy of Aerospace Instrumentation. In 2000 he completed St. Petersburg State University’s marketing management, and gained an MBA from Warwick Business School.
