Sponsorship and Charity
Sponsorship and charity is an indicator of the corporate involvement in the community, commitment to social values enabling to positioning the company as correlating with the social well being. VTB assumes an active and socially responsible position, recognizing charity as an integral part of its business allowing to pursue its philosophy and to meet its mission with respect to the general public. Moreover, it is an instrument to manage corporate reputation.
There is an exigency in the Russian community for joint and several liability of the authorities and the business in addressing socially important problems. The Association of Russian Bankers approved the Banker's Code of Conduct which says: «No banker may keep aloof from charity which is a tradition of domestic entrepreneurship. The banker is willing to render assistance to those in need by making use of all available opportunities»
Sustained and growing financial results enable to expand and diversify sponsorship and charity programs of the Bank. Their key priorities remain culture, education, sports, public health and target-oriented social aid.
Sponsorship and charity activity of VTB combines long-term project support and non-recurring givings. Activities where VTB acts as a sponsor can be divided in two classes. There are projects oriented to promote the image of the Bank and campaigns to attract customers.
