Andrey L. Kostin VTB Bank President and Chairman of the Management Board  Member of VTB Bank Supervisory Council

Mr. Kostin joined VTB in 2002. Mr. Kostin is VTB Bank President and Chairman of the Management Board; Member of VTB Bank Supervisory Council. He is also Chairman of Supervisory Councils of VTB Bank (Ukraine), VTB24 and VTB Bank North-West; Chairman of the Advisory Committee of VTB Bank (Europe) Plc.; and Member of the Board of Directors of CJSC VTB Capital.

By a resolution of the Supervisory Council of 2007, the powers of Mr. Kostin were extended up to 2012.

Presently, Mr. Kostin is a Member of Boards of Directors at OJSC NK Rosneft, OJSC Russian Railways, OJSC Sovcomflot, and OJSC United Aircraft Corporation; President of the Russian Federation of Artistic Gymnastics.

Previously held positions include:
In 1996, under RF Presidential Decree Mr. Kostin was appointed Chairman of Vnesheconombank, in 1999 his powers were extended for 3 years;
1995-1996 - First Deputy Chairman of the National Reserve Bank (NRB);
1993-1995 - Deputy Head of Foreign Investment Department at Imperial Bank; 
1979-1992 - various positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including:
1979-1982 in USSR Consulate General in Australia;
1985-90 in USSR Embassy in Great Britain.

In 2006, Mr. Kostin was awarded the Order “For Service to the Fatherland, Level IV” and in 1999, the Order of Merit for his outstanding contribution to the development of the financial banking system of the Russian Federation.
Mr. Kostin also holds Certificates of Honor of the Russian Government awarded in 1998 and 2001.

Born in 1956.
In 1979, Mr. Kostin graduated with honors from the Department of Economics at the Moscow State University, specializing in international economics. PhD in Economics.
